Norm Rooke began his singer-songwriter journey in the early 1980s, earning radio airplay across Canada and beyond, along with television appearances of the era. His early work includes albums such as North American Cowboy and Heart Song which included notable tracks Know You All Over Again and Paulette’s Corvette. Norm also co-produced and co-wrote with Karl Erikson for Mary Saxton’s album Georgia Eyes with notable coverage of the album title track of the same name.
Life eventually led Norm to a 30-year career as a commercial airline pilot, but music was never far from reach. During that time, he remained active as a bass player in Folk, Roots Americana, and Bluegrass bands throughout Alberta. Since retiring from aviation, songwriting has taken center stage once again, culminating in a new album, If Not Now Then When. Produced by Paul Zacharias of Wheelhouse Sound.
The record is a guitar-driven blend of Folk Rock, Country and Rockabilly rooted firmly in Americana. Reflective, thoughtful, and occasionally lighthearted, the songs offer a seasoned perspective on today’s complex world and are sure to resonate with listeners.
